Incapacitating Adherence
your rides passing by
your trains leaving the station
your plane is on the runway
it’s time to leave the nation
your seat is reserved
though your future is unknown
the flowers are planted
everything was carefully sown
be-rid yourself of the fear
stop clinging to your past
time is passing by
and it’s moving awfully fast
the clothing hugs
to the body that is wet
the glue binds
two ends which are met
the child clings
to mom for protection to get
the adolescence wish to stick
but the cycle doesn’t let
it’s time to let go
of the childish fears
monsters beneath the bed
time to move on in the years
it’s time to let go
of the immature views
of the teenage slang
the smoking and the booze
it’s time to let go
it’s time to advance
it’s safer to progress
so give it a chance
